So this week is Valentine's Day. It is a day that makes single people feel like they should have someone and odd enough for the day of love is also a day that causes many fights among couples. A lot of that is because Valentine's Day is built up to be this big day of love and romance and passion and not everyone can live up to the hype. It is a hallmark holiday. The one day a year when your man is supposed to be attentive and loving and romantic. I am not sure why that is not expect the rest of the year but ya know. The fights couples have on Valentine's Day stem from this belief that your man should be uber romantic that day. This doesn't always happen, men are oblivious and their idea of romance is often very different from women. The fights on V Day crack me up because it is just a day, no need to get uptight about it or expect too much from your man or get pissed when he doesn't live up to your ridiculous expectations. If your man honestly has to buy you something expensive and take you out for an expensive dinner to show he loves you there are other issues in the relationship that should be dealt with.
And as for us single girls, be glad we don't have to go out to overcrowded eateries and watch couples pretend to be happy, even though that can be amusing. Don't let yourself get down because you are single on a made up romantic hallmark holiday. It is ok, it is not a big deal! Grab yourself some friends and enjoy the night, expectation and drama free.
